Perched above the quaint village of Warkworth and the romantic River Coquet, the entire hillside is blanketed in pretty yellow trumpets, with the medieval castle sitting at the top. 2) Charming Cherry Blossoms at Alnwick Garden

Spring at The Alnwick Garden sees the spectacular sight of Japanese Taihaku Cherry Blossoms. Comprising 329 trees, which is actually the largest collection of Japanese Taihaku in the world, the Cherry Orchard welcomes these beautiful blooms for around two weeks at the end of April. Known as the ‘Great White’ for their snow-like clusters, the cherry blossoms at The Alnwick Garden are not to be missed this spring!

 

3) Terrific Daffodil Trumpets at Howick Hall

Howick Hall is a true gardener’s paradise, with spectacular drifts of daffodils carpeting the grounds from March into May. Nearly all planted by Lady Grey between the wars, you can uncover all the original varieties of daffodils leading up the hillside opposite the Hall as you wander along the picturesque pathways. The woodland garden is also home to stunning rhododendrons, camellias and magnolias from April time - a truly beautiful sight to behold!

 

4) Remarkable Rhododendrons at Cragside

Explore the extensive grounds at Cragside in springtime and admire its awe-inspiring Rhododendron display. Step inside the Rock Garden and discover these beautiful blooms scattered amongst the rocks and along the banks, creating a true kaleidoscope of colour. With hot pinks, deep reds, bright yellows, warm oranges, and dainty lilac flowers emerging from their buds, you’re guaranteed to see a truly dramatic floral display at Cragside this May.
