Charming Castles

Bamburgh Castle rises majestically from behind the wild sand dunes of Bamburgh. Step back in time to the Last Kingdom of Bebbanburg and discover the battles and rebellions that took place here in the Anglo-Saxon era.

Dazzling Dark Skies

What could be more romantic than a spot of stargazing after watching the sun go down? Northumberland is the UK's oldest designated International Dark Sky Park, showcasing some of the darkest skies in England. On a clear night, you can see thousands upon thousands of glittering stars, the mighty Milky Way and even the Andromeda Galaxy - all with the naked eye.

Cawfields showcases a long stretch of Hadrian's Wall, as well as the old quarry of the Whin Sill. Cawfields Car Park is a fantastic location to view the dazzling dark skies over the Northumberland National Park.

Stonehaugh is a wonderful woodland village renowned for its dark, starry skies. This Dark Sky Discovery Site is renowned for its peace and quiet, providing the perfect setting for a spot of stargazing.
